Hai Minh Nguyen is a community-oriented artist and educator. Her artworks center the labor of women and honor the impacts they have in everyday life. She aspires for art to heal and create positive change. As an educator, Hai Minh worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs as an arts specialist and a teen coordinator. She has been teaching English as a Second Language since 2012, in Vietnam and in the U.S. This is Hai Minh's fourth year with Heartland Alliance. She started as a volunteer coordinator and ESL teacher. In her current capacity as supervisor, Hai Minh manages educational service provision for 800 refugee and immigrant adult learners. In addition, she creates and monitors program plans, systems, and procedures to ensure program success. Her favorite part of work is meeting new people and connecting participants with resources to achieve their next steps. She graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in Studio Arts and has a CELTA (Pass A).
